Excuse my ignorance here but never had an auto before the VR4 - is there still a clutch type setup ? If so.....
Anyone had a clutch go on a tiptronic - of so what are the signs and what sort of price to get it fixed ?
Nothing wrong with mine as far as I know just wanted for info

You get electro-mechanical clutches on the latest transmissions, but I don't believe the INVECS is like that. It certainly doesn't drive like one, as it's got that 'slipping' feeling to it, which would indicate a viscous coupling between engine and gearbox.
I'm sure it's just a torque converter with mechanical lockup on 3 & 4 INSERT INTO post VALUES (on the UK 4 speeder anyway).
