I'm in Jamaica. I've been wanting to buy maybe a 1996 or 1997 galant with a V6 engine, but friends have been telling me countless stories about these galant and the dreaded problems with their automatic tranny. I've also heard that getting a transmission cooler installed just in front of the radiator is theeee best solution to this problem.I don't know if this would be a wise thing....buying a car then modifying the tranny cooling system JUST not to worry about the car dying on me in miserable everyday traffic:stars:

I need some serious advice peeeps :chugchug:

as you are in Jamaica the atf getting too hot will be a problem.

i suggest you change your atf cooler for 1 with an additional fan and if you can get the atf changed to amsoil that would be good, as it will take higher heat without cooking.

I would suggest you get a manual, spare parts for the auto's will be a big problem over there, and they will run a lot hotter in the Jamacian weather.

Why bother? Buy a turboed V6 to start with! :leer:
