Hard on the heels of the new wheels fitted Tuesday, tonight saw the completion of my rear Brembo conversion.

All went relatively smoothly, with the worst parts having to cut away the edges of the backplate to accomodate the 300mm discs, and removing the old brake pipes without snapping them.

Will get some pix up over the weekend, but the car is now wearing:

Rear Brembo calipers
EBC Turbo Grooved 300mm rear discs
Ferodo DS2500 rear pads
Goodrich braided hoses

Nicely compliments the KAD's on the front /Banana

Well, 1.15am really......./haz

Didn't start until after 9pm, and also had the front discs skimmed and new pads fitted first, then there's the coffee/fag breaks etc......just a normal night down at AP mate

Cool :) One question though, when you had the KAD's on at the front and standard brakes at the back, did you notice your brake balance was screwed up and you would lock up the front's first?

brake balance has very little to do with your brakes, as its controlled befor this, thru a valve(s) placed in the brake lines before the calipers

I thought I'd ask considering we talked about that breifly last night - so how come on some cars some wheels lock before others?

poor brake balance/ tyres/ pads/ abs/ fluid / master cyclinder size?

its a combination of things.

Yeah had no issue with the Kads and standard rears. I was not particularly looking for a rear upgrade, it's just the right deal came along at the time...I would have been happy to stay standard on the rear.......oh, and of course it looks much nicer on the back now too :)

I think that's sensible mate. Maybe we should extend the gap from 2ft to 3ft ?

I've got exactly the same setup to fit - discs just arrived. New seals for the brembo calipers too as the old ones look a bit tired.

Hoping to have enough time on Sunday to do it (working Sat). Race you to get the pics... ;)

Will do. So far, the age and condition of my leggie has meant that even things like the ABS sensors have come out easily... I'm hoping it continues /help

Get a Goodridge braided kit for an EVO VII and they will fit - the rear hoses are slightly longer than an Evo VI. Extreme do their own kit at a very reasonable price !

You can then sell the front hoses from the kit if you don't need them.
