well,

took approx 5-6 hours start to finish with a couple of breaks,

so now my car has facelift hubs/carriers/abs sensors & brakes up front.

and prefacelift 5 stud hubs on the rear on the standard carrier and facelift disks & brakes.

so now my car ban be easily fitted with brembos if i can find some at the right price.

sorry i didnt take any pics during the process as we were working outside and the weather was packing in everynow and then,

just wanted it to be over,

only a couple of minor issues during the day,
front left outer CV needed some convincing to come out,
and so did both off the tie rod ends.

and the right front lower tawsion bar nut/bolt was ****ed,
had to file it a bit to get the nut to wind back on.

other than that there were no issues

oh and my car needs a wheel alignment real badly now.

if anyone needs advice if they decide to do this, i can help...

BUT IM DEFFINATELY NOT GONNA DO THAT JOB AGAIN!

I know the answer, but I'm not sure if I can tell!

Now we just need to get a better transmission and engine in there :)

well just got back from the test fitting....
we're not 100% sure it will fit....

it would be very close to the rear suspension arm...

there 18 x 8.5 with a 35 offset
would be using a 225/40 gsd3....

problem is they cant test fit with a tyre on as the supplier will not take the rims back once the tyre have been fitted...

anyone got any idea if they will fit without rubbing??!!!

yep only prob with that, you can flatten the thread on them,
and since i reused them i just couldnt do that.

they needed gentle approch... a rubber mallet :)

I think you will be fine, 225/40/18 is a smaller size than 235/45/17 which is what I have on my car with 35mm offset wheels, so I'm sure you'll be fine :)

actually you do not hit the thread but the eye it goes in and it will spring out no worries, I ruined one of mine doing it the wrong way, luckily I got them for less than $15 each

yeh i hope so,

ill talk to them again tomorrow,

tmarks wheels are 18 x 8.5s with 32 offset...

im not sure i i like them sticking out as much as they do...
i dont think rolling the guards will be enough

With a 32mm offset they will definately rub quite a bit at the back, obviously they will be fine on the inside though. Did you ask him how far his tyre was away from the rear suspension arm?

yeh sent him a email and a PM,

even with the 35mm offset they stick out a bit...
but couldnt tell how they would sit when on the ground!?

i want to get a camber kit in future aswell...
so that would cause more probs with rubbing..

may have to get 18" x 8" advanti fluids (clear brembos)
or ditch the bremo idea? and go with 18" x 7.5"

got a test fit today with a tyre on.
with a bit luck my choosen wheels will be on tomorrow,

18" x 8.5"

with 225/40/18 Dunlop Direzza DZ101
the supplier have no GSD3s in that size atm, and wouldnt have more till October (i cant wait that long)

althou now i have a new issue,

one of the hub carrier arms is bent,
passenger side has 0.5 degrees camber drivers has 2 degrees, on the front only!

both rears have 3 degrees!!! (i can sort this myself)

after the guy doing the alignment did some measuring its the only part that could be causing a problem.... (carrier)

will need to do some measuring here at home to see which is the bent one.

i can either replace the arm,
or get a camber kit for the drivers side which sould push the arm back out 1.5 degrees making them match...
but thats gonna cost $380 fitted and aligned again! :(

What about Toyo T1R's? I've seen a couple of reviews saying they are better than DZ101's and they are similarly priced. The evo guys in the uk swear by them. I can't wait to see pics with your new mags on :)

to late already confirmed the dz101s, read some mixed reviews about them,
most are good... some say theres a bit to wall flex.. (did say way size they are running)

but mine are gonna be streched so hope it wont be an issue
