over here they are very plentiful and go for about 1500-2500 pounds.

not sure it's common. i've got a 2.5 v6 estate that looks very similar except the autobox is different and it's only 2 wheel drive. Apart from that it is indistiguishable from mine.

Looked at a similar one a few years ago (apparently Colt's own car that they had imported when testing which Galant variants they imported no less!)

Anyway, I seriously considered buying it until I tried to get an insurace quote. Nobody I tried could find it on their database and insisted it had twin turbos and was group 20 i.e. they would only insure it as a VR4.

Beware!

looks are exactly the same as the V6-24 estate (but with a VR4 type rear spoiler and Legnum badge)

4wd system is the only difference.

there cant be many in the UK. I would imagine a UK spec V6-24 would be quicker (less power lost thru a 2wd system than a 4wd)

I would imagine slightly slower due to drive train friction and extra weight of 4WD, but would handle better in the bends.

Is £2,400.00 a reasonable price from a motor trader for this car?

doesn't seem too bad , the only thing thats bugging me slightly is the fact i work all over p'boro and i havn't seen his premises , it might be worth giving him a ring to find out about veiwing it , and then myself or one of the other fine gents from p'boro will go and have a butchers for you

Our STR was a cracking car.... but they are as rare as rocking horse poo and insurance comps cant find them on their data bases.

Can work to your advantage as they had to pay out VR4 price on settlement when ours got wrote off.... almost a grand more than we paid for it.

We paid £3500 for it two years ago

It seems that he does not have any premises as such.

"I have been in the Motor Trade for a long time (aprox 18 years) and been selling Jap imports for the last 5 years, i work from home, so very little overheads, i dont have a huge showroom and offices, this way i dont have silly rent prices to pay."

It seems to have been sold yesterday.

Bought by a forum member?
