Hi all, im new in this community. Im about to swap 6A13tt in to my galant 1.8 GDI 8th generation. The engine i got has an auto and an awd transmission. Im a little low on budget thats why im more interested in FWD setup. Could u guyz be kind enough to tell me which FWD transmission will be coupled with this engine. And yeh wats the part number, coz mostly companies ask for part number rather than application name.

Peace!!

The five speed F5M42 used in the Galant V6-24 and the V6 Legnum ST fits.

The Manual gearbox out of the FTO also fits. Not sure what model code this is.

If you already have a 4wd galant, then wouldn't it be easiest to buy a 4wd transmission anyway? If your transfer case bolts up, then you are completely sorted, and I doubt a second hand manual vr-4 gearbox (W5M51) would be much more expensive than a F5M42.

The tranny you have for the 6A13TT is 4WD, so you'll have to ditch this for a FWD only tranny.
The Vee put a 6A13TT into his v6-24 galant (using the V6-24 gearbox) and its ok (but FWD only). Do a search for the thread entitled "and so it begins".

Thank u all. By the way are you guyz sure that 5M42 will fit this engine, coz my galant has a 4g93 gdi and its coupled with a 5M42 manual FWD transmission.

Keep rollin!!!

From memory your existing 5m42 has different gear ratios compared to a V6 one (i think its 5th has a different ratio). This thread HERE (http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12649&highlight=manual+gearbox) may be useful to you.

Paul, gear ratios are not an issue the main thing is will it fit without any adapter plate or custom bell housing???
