When I switch off the power from the front panel, the aerial won't go down fully. It stops a quarter way down. Sometimes it does go down fully but most often it doesn't. Anyone know why this is the case?

The aerial's tend to get stuck after a while, I would assume something like WD40 would help it a bit, you could also possibly buy a new aerial.

Out of curiousity, where is your aerial located? jdm spec cars don't have them at all

1. Wouldn't using WD-40 mess up the aerial and electrics?

2. and how do we take out the aerial?

Try spraying the aerial with WD40 when the aerial is fully extended then run the aerial up and down a few times. Wipe the WD40 and then put a thin film of waterproof grease and repeat. This should help loosen the aerial and lubricate it a bit. Wipe the grease off afterwards, otherwise any airborne cr@p will get stuck to it.
I take it theres no bends or kinks in it?

Can you get just the mast seperate ?

You could on the Rover 600s and they were only about £11 each whereas the complete aerial assembly was about £100 !!

KY Jelly, for a longer, smoother, more pleasureable extension and retraction!
