sorry to hear you've got to part with the car.

Is it auto or manual?
Any service history?
Im assuming its a saloon as its a spoiler? Duh! You already said that!
Feel free to post some pics.

Good luck with the sale.

Thanks, Sorry its a manual & saloon
main dealer history til 27k ( hilfoot in sheffield, but the closed down and now Mits dealer is Gordon Lamb) , then local garage uptil now..

Shame its has to go,, but there is only me ever in it, missus wont drive it,
Its great on the road, esp in outside lane, the amount of people who just pull in out the way, as they dont know what it is, and by the time they realise.. i am gone.. , Prob the best car i have every had.. gutted its going to go..
Cheers

"Books at £2800 for 60k miles"

leuven, can you expand a little, please?

Do you mean "retails" at £2800? Is this using Glass's Guide or CAP?

Glass's Guide indicates a P/Ex value of £2230 for a 2000/W (Excellent Condition) with 40,000 miles. So a Trade "cash" value of ~ £1600?

Considering the low km's and the fact it is a manual, I wouldn't sell it for anything much less than 2800. What have you actually been offered by a dealer?

That seems far too low.. here is what parkers lists

http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/used-prices/Valuation.aspx?deriv=18041&plate=63&buysell=sell

Original Price £18,995
Franchised Dealer £4,260
Independent Dealer £3,950
Private Good £3,315
Private Poor £2,065
Part Exchange £2,575

I'd take £3k ovno..

I have usually found Parkers to be too optimistic in its values.

Glass's or CAP and adjust as necessary is what I have tended to do.

Have you asked for a price from a dealer?

Price is low for that car.

Parkers are mince... the best valuation is the current market... and autotrader is a good guide for that.

A quick look brings up loads of cars at similar price but over 100k... either that or far more expensive.

woudln't it be nice if books like glass's didn't exist, taht way dealers woudl offer sensible money for our cars and teh market woudl be a bit healthier.

Just at thought.

Good luck with the sale
