Is it possible to change the forums that the new posts button searches? For example I find that probably 50% of the threads are joke threads and it would be nice to disable them from appearing. Is this possible?

But that wouldn't help if someone was searching for a joke/random pic etc, like I was yesterday afternoon.

How about using the "Advanced Search" button and asking it to search a particular forum to narrow down the field. You can also disable searching "Child" forums from there too.

I know of the advanced search of course, but it is difficult to do a search of all the new posts without bringing up the jokes. If it is too difficult then nevermind :)

Sorry mate, didn't read the "New Posts" bit, thought you meant just normal searching. Now I can see where you're coming from.......maybe Barry can help on this one.

Ive been looking into something like this. i never read the for sales section, and a couple other forums, some of them NZ ones. I'd like it so that I can choose "my" forums from your preferneces, and only they will show up in your search.

As it stands, no.. it cant be done. but maybe someone will release somethign to do it, but i doubt it.
