The Vauxhall Monaro VXR 500 (http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/motoringpreviews/203417/vauxhall_monaro.html)
Yet what about the driving experience? It may be half the price of similarly potent machinery, but is it half as thrilling? With its existing 6.0-litre V8 (shared with Chevrolet’s Corvette) boosted by a supercharger, the VXR 500’s headline stats climb from 403bhp to 500bhp, and from 530Nm to 677Nm. But it’s the way this engine goes about its work that impresses most. Pick a gear, any gear, and the car hauls in the horizon as if capable of defying the laws of physics. Torque is the secret to its unrelenting urge, the supercharger giving the V8 bigger lungs than ever.Bl#&dy Poms

If you took a monaro to HSV, they'd give it the same treatment :) I'd rather a vr4 tho lol

It must be bliming heavy with that 0-60 time (4.8) at 500bhp :inquisiti

My Supra is 320 bhp with quoted 0-60 of 4.9 and weighs 1.5 tonnes ???

What would it handle like ? I've been on track at Castle Combe with a standard one of these and it was fodder against the VR4, it was poor in the twisty bits

Not the supercharged flavour...

0-60 time might be a traction problem too...?

The monaro is an unfeasibly large car for a 2 door... In way's it's reminiscent of the Aston V600 and Bentley Continental T. Big, heavy, RWD, blown V8. It's just a tad cheaper though...

They are a real 4 seater though, unlike most other coupe's. Remember it is based on a normal 4 door sedan and has the same wheelbase and cabin size, so it is very easy to get into the back seats, and they are nice and comfortable too. They aren't very agile though :)

You're all forgetting that with Traction Control turned on most of those horses are sitting around twiddling their thumbs as the ECU limits the power output to what the back wheels can put down on the ground.

Gimme 2.5 litre. TT, AYC 4wd anyday...
