I'm insured with Pioneer Insurance for my facelift VR-4, it is insured at $14k + $10K of mods, and it is $2289 per year, with me on my restricted and no alarm installed.

My new VR-4 is completely stock apart from the mags which I told them were worth $500. It is insured for $7k, plus the mags at $500 and it is only $1000 per year, plus next year they said they will review the rates and expect the first one to drop to about $1700 if I don't make any claims. Furthermore these are both agreed upon values, even if I do need to make a full vehicle claim, I will get exactly $24k for the facelift one, regardless if they decide the car is only worth $12k to buy again :)

I'm in a happy mood today, I own 2 VR-4's and the insurance isn't crippling me :D

yup same here... wouldnt mind getting another one though, and trading my 1993 VR4 in. its either get rid of it and mod the leggie or trade it in for another.

You would save a fortune if you got off your arse and got your full/pan

$100 on each of them per year....maybe I'll get around to it in the white VR-4, being an auto with a stock exhaust will probably make it easier to pass the test :)

Only a $100? $1,000 seems like a lot for a unmodified VR4 especially with a value of $7k

Yeah but considering I'm only 22, I thought it was quite good

not really, I just told them that their first price of $1200 was too much considering I can't drive both of the cars I have insured with them at once, and they need to give me a better price :)

Yeah I've been very happy with Pioneer too, I've waited for less than one minute every time I've called them and they are always very friendly.

Insurance Companies are ALWAYS friendly when they take your money ...

Dunno about that, I spoke to quite a few different places when I was looking to insure my first VR-4 and you would be suprised at just how bad some places are when the conversation goes something like:

21...turbo...yep 21....ok bye.

err... im 21 this coming january, stock vr4 (pod and exhaust and wheels), alarm fitted. First car, first year of insurance. $1400 with NAC.

Did I get a little gipped for not looking harder?

If I change companies can I persuade them to give me a 1yr no claims discount?

I think you did fairly good considering it is your first car.

its always hard to insure turbo cars for the first time... NAC is the only place that would insure people with turbo cars. so yeah... wait a year. then see if u can change to AMI or State or something.
