My new VR-4 has those monsoon shield things stuck on the doors, if anyone wants them they can have them for free as long as they remove them and clear all the glue and sticky crap off the doors :)

My drivers door one is cracked... I'd be keen.

How hard are they to remove/reattach (without destroying them)?

I don't know how easy they are to remove without trying to destroy them, on my first VR-4 I just pulled them off and broke each of them in about 2 or 3 places. If I took more care I think it would be easy though.

The difficult part is probably going to be getting rid of all of the glue off the black door pillers :)

its easy to get them of without breaking them,

but im to lazy to clean off the glue ****. (its a pain in the ass to get off 10 year old trim tape)

ill take them off if you dont want them,

but i wouldnt clean off the tape.

bradc

tough then, you only get them for free if you clean off the tape - I hated doing that last time!

LOL, I can relate to that.... getting them off was easy but that glue...

After 2 years of taking mine off there are still remnants of the adhesive on there.. Nightmare!

The saloon ones are better in terms of their size, shame the leggie ones weren't that kinda size.

thanks Jane :)

Pezza - on my facelift VR-4 I spent 4 hours one night in winter rubbing the door pillars with a cloth and meths, and I got it all off just fine :)

Turpentine will soften the glue and won't hurt the paint, just trickle some in along the top edge. Also will let you just let roll rub/roll the glue off in little soft balls, no problem. Good for removing tar as well....

I used that last time, it still took hours :) Thanks for the suggestion though.

get rid off the rails bro.. if you want the clean look.

not if you gonna use the rails anyway.

I'm not too worried about the rails, I might use them at some point. In the mean time I'm just happy with the car :)

hot air gun does the trick! heat the monssons up (but not too much or they melt!) and the practically fall off with the glue in toe

bradc

I'll try that when I get the chance, thanks for the tip!
