Any ideas how much one cost and how hard they are to fit. i have a list of faults so i thought i would tackle this one first.

Thanks paulc

mine was about NZ$60, so I would imagine you would be looking at 20-40 pounds.

just started changing the cam sensor and its raining, great. but other than that it is quite easy to do. the space is limited so thats making it a bit fidderly and time consuming.once you have the nearest front cam cover off the sensor is there behind the cam pulley wheel.2x 6mm bolts hold the sensor in place and a cable clip with an 8mm bolt i think. struggling to get this on out at the moment as there isn't room for a socket and i cant get the right leaverage on a spanner. stopped raining so must carry on will post pics later.

What actually is the problem with the car ??

doesn't seem to be running as smooth as normal, checked the fault codes and there was a few including cam sensor. I've been working my way down the list changing parts to see if i can solve the problem without going to a mits'y garage.

What did the other fault codes show to be at fault ??

Did you do an ECU reset ??

Not smooth when.. Idling, Cruising, Full throttle, Hot, Cold ?

yes via the battery and the datalogger cel reset

I've ordered a new engine temp sender hopefully that will arrive soon. I have also removed the bmc cda air filter and returned to standard.

here is a picture of the sensor fitted hiding behind the pulley.

Its not smooth when idling and when cruisin along it feels abit jumpy like it doesn't know where to keep the revs.

Just relaced Engine coolant temperature sender and still the fault exists. Is it worth getting the faults read by mitsubishi to see if they are true faults coming from the reader? or am i just fixing the wrong parts.
