this is my VR4 project, its originaly a 2000 model super saloon 4 cyl 2.0 engine. Some of the mods i did was: engine swap 6a13tt, tein coilover, VR4 front bumper and skirts, VR4 gauge, invecs tranny. right now i'm still looking for a rear bumper (hard to find here) rear wiper and moonroof.....

FWD at the moment, i'm still waiting for the other parts for the all wheel drive convertion

Gly

that going to be one hell of a job...
you'd have to change most of the floor wouldnt you to allow for all the 4wd gear?

one one other fwd galant with vr4 motor conversion on here...
"the vee"

any pictures of during the conversion?
how did you do it?? any issues? custom parts that had to be made?

yep, and pricey too he he

currently there is one galant here that recently done the AWD conversion, it took him more than a year to complete the project, he seam welded the chasis so it'll be stiffer.

the problem that we encountered is the tranny thats comes with the motor, we coudnt find a way to dissable the 4wd mechanism, like what with do with the 7th gen galant (much easier for conversion) so the tranny that we use is from a 4g97 engine (invecs) re wiring the gauges was also dificult. right now i have a problem with the check engine light, the mechanic told me that its from the trction control. there arent any parts that have to be "customized" since most of the parts came from an orig VR4 and literally "bolt on" only part that we customized was the rear wheel stud, since galants here only has 4 holes pcd 114

sorry i dont have a picture when we did the conversion

not if you have time, hardest bit would be wiring,
most of it is bolt in.

yes it works fine as a FWD

Looking good. Interesting to compare notes as I used a manual box from a FWD V6. Notice it's a left hooker, which country are you in? Did you have a front clip from a VR4 or just the engine and box. Find it surprisingly sure footed for FWD - till you really push it.

Ah, see where you are - just noticed your plate !!

MR202: Got the TEIN coilovers from a friend, i think he ordered it from Japan.

GLY is right, changing the motor is easy it is literally "bolt on" took only 1 day for the engine swap, wiring took more than two weeks, there are 3 persons who did the installation for the wiring of the gauges the ecu and the invecs tranny.

the manual FWD V6 tranny that you use, did it came from a mitsu 3000 GT? Parts that i bought were the engine and the 4WD tranny (which i could not use, so i have to get a different tranny) the gauge , invecs shifter, bumper and side skirts. fortunately my friend who did the conversion has a half cut VR4 so most parts that are needed for the conversion were taken from it. but wait for his own 8g according to him it'll be done early next year, its a full 4wd conversion! i wonder where he got it, but he has a brand new 6a13TT engine!
