Looks like Mitsubishi Australia aer going to build the supercharged 380 they unveiled at the Sydney auto show. Its power is 230Kw, torque 442Nm, 0-100 in 6 seconds. I think it will be front wheel drive though.

Toyota Australia look set to build a TRD version of the Aurion as well. 3.5l Supercharged aprox 240kw and possible 4wd.

All and all the aussie 6 and 8s are in for trouble, especially if the Mitsi and Toyota end up 4wd.

If it is 4wd then they may have something on their hands. I can't imagine what a 230kw fwd car would be like though, it would be unmanageable.

It would be good until you came to a corner and then it would continue going straight

the mazda 3 mps is 190kw fwd and even with all the "anti torque steer" and tcs programmes they have they are still a bloody handfull! fun to drive but abit of a workout!

Those are easy meat for VR-4s in the wet, I had a heap of fun with one of those the other day, it was good fun :)

I think they will add 4WD to the "Series II" models.

One interesting point was that they will be manual only. Fair enough as well mitsi really don't do very good autos (or any jap manufacturer for that matter)

Hmmm, dunno about that, I drove a full Ralliarted Diamante 3.5 and what they had done to the suspension impressed me no end. Ok, only NA but HEAPS of torque and go and it handled corners surprisingly well, I know cos I chucked it at a round-a-bout at a speed that just about had the sales guy in the car with us ready to bail. Big tyres, 235 I think, but front suspension geometry was superb and it took a lot of heavy footing to make the tyres chirp at launch.
Quite impressive that car, almost bought it, it was just a bit dear ..... and it was RED too ...! with EVO wing...

Glad I got the Leggie though, it carried a full size BBQ, all the booze, fireworks and four of us out to a big bang Sat night.
And it brung home my bloody big new stainless BBQ, dropped the seats and slid it in, no problem.

See,.. it's just a big shopping trolley really ...

Yeah Legnums are great :)

There is no match for 4wd in the wet though, I think you know it more than anyone else Xeroid with your various traffic light drags :)

random late reply... yes mps has 6 speed manual nd no at this stage there will not be a 4wd in the facelift.
the mazda 6 mps is a f'n weapon on the open road, but you dont really feel the power like in other cars and its all over at 4000rpm.
