Hi all

Can someone please confirm that my dim light bulb is a 233?

Thanks in advance

You're talking about the sidelight?

Yeah, it's a 233. It's sometimes called a T4W as well.:scholar:

I shall repeat my theory as to the Galant's appetite for sidelight bulbs...

They're placed right next to the H7 dip-beam bulb. The H7 is a 55W bulb, while the T4W is, oddly enough, a 4W bulb. The result of this is that the H7 heats up the T4W (as they're both on when you have the headlamps on) more than it normally would. The filament starts to burn off, and the bulb starts going dim as the filament starts coating the inside of the glass. Eventually it burns away entirely.

Unfortunately there's nothing that you can really do about this, except keep feeding it. That same heat does in for LED replacements (which give very poor light output anyway).

Yeah iv noticed how close the two bulbs are to each other. I had the same problem in civic when I use to have it. My led replacements would onlt last a few months at most!

You think as my H7's are HIDs il be ok having led replacements as the HID doesnt by any means create as much heat as standard bulbs.
