I know the standard alternator is 120amps.

Just been offered a brand new one for 200 with guarentee but its only 100 amps. The bloke says it will fit perfectly.

Has anyone got any thoughts?

Its either that, or the recon one from Nippon for 170 quid exchange

Is the VR4 alternator really 120amps? or was this a upgraded one to start with?

No - it's standard. Ariadne's one was a 120amp unit. Not really that surprising. Big battery, AYC, AirCon, etc etc...

The 'Warm Area' cars might have something smaller fitted.

Havent even got the old unit out yet mate. Just wanted a working one in place for when i do . Then maybe ill try and fix the old one and have a spare or something! Start again saturday morning i suppose!
