I appreciate many of you are 'doing' Coomb on December 2nd, but purely out of courtesy I wanted to let you know that I'm 'doing' Donington on December 10th, mainly as my brother wants to have a go in my car.

Obviously, if anyone wants to join us it would be great.

BOOKING/DETAILS HERE (http://bookatrack.com/-pE)

Shame it wasn't the 12th as I am at a concert at the NEC that night so it might have tempted me to go and then nip back to Brum after

Rich, we won't be there but have you actually booked it?

I only ask because Donny have one of their own days on 17th December for £99
- not sure if the 10th was the crucial date?

Anyhow, whichever you do, have a great day :2thumbsup

J :)

/edited to say sorry if you knew this already - it wasn't meant to sound patronising!!!

No problem, as I wrote it I realised that may be the case - wish we could join you but Combe has to be our last track day this year!

Then I forgot, and now I'm again thinking "Hmmm....."

May well book it after I get home next weekend.

I will be at Donny on the 17th if i get the cambelt changed OK ( what a job ). Hopefully won't have to touch the engine for years after this job as i am changing pulleys and water pump. Recently had to change heater matrix ( another " what a job" )

It's not *that* much of a mare - Provided you've got a pair of Twin-Cam locking tools ready! If you get those, it's relatively easy as these things go.

Good old VR4 ready for the 17th at Donington. Surely won't have to change anything else before then. Expenditure at approx. £1200 since purchase in May, all on necessities. Could have bought a cheap SAAB for that, or 6 in Derek's case.

Umm! Sorry but I have some odd corruption on the video after uploading to my computer. I've had to use different settings to remove the corruption but this has left me with a huge file.

It's at the following link but it will take ages to upload so do it in background whilst you do soomething else. There's nothing dramatic so just forget it if it takes too long. I'm following a 3.9 litre Rover engined Ginetta G33 - damn good driver controlling it in the wet so well with little twitching.

Just one minor 'f*ck you' incident in the last 10 secs of video (Seat Cupra).

Great vid again Rich, apart from the nagging Snooper woman /pan

Looked like great fun, and good to see you whip the Imprezza Wagon.

That Seat guy obviously didn't want to keep the rear of his car the same shape /Grrr

Hahaha! Yes, I think so Rich but I can't hear exactly what I said

It's interesting for me to watch the sequence of events on the first one because I had just gone on track and was on brand new tyres. On the previous corner the car had got out of kilter and I was thinking about that incident which meant I wasn't concentrating properly on the Craner Curves. The track was damp but not rain sodden so I should have been OK but, hell, it's worth bearing in mind that new tyres need scrubbing in. The car was all over the place for 2/3 laps at 'slower' speeds - I initially thought my AYC wasn't working.

And Pete ......... as I've mentioned before - I never even 'HEAR' that woman whilst I'm on track. I'll try and remember to switch her off next time!

Brunty

Presumably car tyres have the same 'release' chemical on them to get them out of the moulds that make brand new m/c tyres so interesting when you put them on your bike.

Great vids Rich - do you think you could've taken the Ginetta 'cos it certainly looked like it; the Seat driver was a bit impatient!

Physician

Great vids Rich - do you think you could've taken the Ginetta 'cos it certainly looked like it;

Yes, for certain ....... BUT it may well have been considered as 'racing' if a marshall spotted it. I was always faster than him exiting the Old Hairpin and believe I could have 'taken' him a few times just after you then pass under the 'bridge'. In that weather with a passenger I didn't want to risk it (yea, bottled out!)
