WTB: Legnum VR4

I'm currently in the market for a Galant / Legnum VR4 (must be estate).
Pre-facelift is fine, spec to include, AYC, Leather (if poss), manual transmission, any colour but white.
I have a man in Japan looking but if you are thinking of selling up let me know and I may be intersested.

Only 96's for importing unless you do a scam on the SVA, or a few companys have managed to import these on newer plates but the methods are 'unknown'

my vr4 might be up for sale in teh new year. it's got leathers, ayc and a moonroof and is in superb condition. pm if you interested and I'll get you some more details.

Have a search online for import rules... with regards to Vr4's and personal imports, legally, it has to be a 1996.

Anything newer requires a model report, which doesnt exist for the vr4.

personal imports of vehicles less than 10 years old into the UK only require a standard, rather than an enhanced SVA which shouldn't be an issue

Yep the dealer who is looking for me will only import Jan 97 cars or older as there is no model report. I'll look into other options though just to make sure.

Im sure its cars built before the 1st of Jan 97...

So, just make sure its not built in Jan 1997...

if you import from Japan, the documents only mention the first registration date

you know manufacture date and registration date obviously would be different.

A 1998 registrated car could be 1997 manufactured
but it would not be shown in paper
Unless you dismantle the car into parts to see the date code

well i think it is unfair and it is hard to believe

Many countries rather allows import of newer used car rather than old car

On the other hand, model report should already exist somewhere in someone's office. The importers have to pay import tax. Once the government demand tax from importers, I would think that it is the government's duty and responsibility to build up a database on which car, what year could be imported

There is no such requirement in New Zealand. What we need is only the compliance of frontal impact criteria. (of course the car must be mechanically sound) Here has more reasonable import regulation
