Does any one know where i can get a haynes type manual for a galant as they dont appear to do one for uk model /Grrr or is the yank one more or less the same?

There is no british Haynes manual for the uk spec (or any other flavour, other than the american models).
However, the american models are very different animals. Suspension, engines and some body work are very different. The American book may be usful as a general reference tool for things like interior and general layout to give a "feel" for the beast, but not for technical type stuff.

Join up and become a member, for £20 its well worth it. If you're reasonably handy with cars then it'll save the cost of guessing, or even paying Mitsi garage prices! AND you'll recoup the £20 membership fee if you DIY!
We have lots of technical info and also a very useful library of mitsi servicing manuals with torque settings, diassembly orders etc etc in the members area.

IF those dont answer your questions, then im sure one of us on here will have already done it. In addition there and numerous member's "how to" articles with pictures etc.
