I was going to say, doesn't dave tow a boat?

Out of curiousity what are you towbars rated at? I need to get one for the white car.

Nice pics by the way William, I love your car. Are you going to get your before and after dyno graph up on there?

Thanks Brad! The towbar is rated at 2000kg but Best Bars assure me they are good for 3000kg. The Legnum is rated for 750kg unbraked and 1200-1500kg braked trailer weight depending on which tables you look at. The manufacturers are generally very conservative when it comes to tow ratings. I attended a talk at our boating club given by a police officer and the law in NZ basically only requires you to be able to stop within 7m when travelling at 30km/h. This is totally impossible to check accurately so he said provided you do not tow a launch with a Mini they will leave you alone. The Legnum is a surprisingly good towing vehicle. A mate of mine has a Merc ML350 and we have compaered the two vehicles towing my boat - the Leggie is without doubt better!

Best Bars will fit the towbar at your workplace for an extra $40 if I remember correctly which is worth the time and effort it saves you.

A happy Christmas to you and the rest CVR4 members!!

Thanks Brad! The towbar is rated at 2000kg but Best Bars assure me they are good for 3000kg. some experts they are yes the towbar itself may take 3 ton but the 1mm thick tin in the chassis of your leggy won't , oh seeing as you didn't mention the max nose weight of the trailer its 75kg
