Just been looking at flight details, hire cars and christ knows what else to go to Germany at the end of the year.
Although at first appearance the Ferry seemed way too much this year, I didn't really take into account how much the hire car was gonna cost this year either plus parking mine at the airport.
So it seems cheeper to go by Ferry, which means.... I get to take the VR-4 :beerbang:
Won't those BMW and Merc freaks be in for a surprise.

I'll be thinking of you guys stuck doing 30mph on camera ridden roads with those stupid effing humps. :p

I'll be gone from the 14th INSERT INTO post VALUES (Sunday) until the 20th INSERT INTO post VALUES (Saturday) December.
Just hope my ClubVR-4 withdrawal symptoms don't last..

I thought Car hire was cheaper abroad :Ponder:
Dirt cheap in the USA I know :p
Unless you want something like a Ferrari ;)

I've never driven a UK car on Europe roads and to be honest its not my cup of tea :INSERT INTO post VALUES (

If you do go in the VR4 make sure your Insurance covers it
And you have the right documents Green papers etc

We dont want to see a post from you saying stuck in Germany HELP :D

:D :D

Driven over there many a time in a UK car until the Ferry prices went up.
Two years ago we went over by Ferry and whilst coming off the German side, the exit ramp had a peak in the middle and the joint between the manifold and the rest of the exhaust system got ripped apart. excellent start to the holiday that was.
Went in the city a bit and found a hire car and drove it for the week, must say it was so much easier!!! with the steering wheel on the other side.
Last year we flew and got another hire car so it is MUCH better really.

I've been dying to get the VR-4 over there as I'm sure you can imagine.
Insurance isn't a problem and the Red Zebra warranty covers breakdowns in the rest of Europe too.
Got AA too.

The hire car in Germany for Monday to Friday is almost £200 and that's only 5 days, gotta park the car we drive to the airport in aswell which is another £50+.

Should be cool! :)

Will do.
Is 150mph a safe speed?

Take my video camera too, should be a rare experiance to see anything near 150mph on the clock.

I agree, driving there is really quite relaxing, even though the signs are in a different language it is so much easier to find your way around too.
People move out of the way to let you on the motorway.

If your slow in the outside lane you can be sure you will be tailgated, flashed, beeped at by someone with a hedgehog haircut and pornstar tash.. that's only the women! :D

I'll prove you wrong.
It's so easy to go that much faster over there as you don't have to keep an eye out for someone pulling in front of you so much, people expect others to be doing very high speeds.
Plus you won't see a bend in the road for 10 miles and then it slowly bends for 1 mile and then goes straight again for another 10 miles..... unbeatable!!! :cool1:
