Jack (our Golden Retriever) is 7 years old today.

Now I always thought a dogs age was 7 times their human equivalent......apparantly not !

"It is a common belief that 1 human year is equal to 7 dog years. That is not very accurate, since dogs reach adulthood within the first couple of years. The formula used above is from a canine expert and is a bit more accurate. (as accurate as one can judge these things)

The formula is: 10.5 dog years per human year for the first 2 years, then 4 dog years per human year for each year after."

So I thought Jack was 49 today, but he's actually 41 :book:

Anyone not met Jack, he must be one of the most obedient and affectionate mutts you'll ever meet.

Thats cool..... I always thought that Toby ( who will be 11 next month) was 77 but apparently he is only 57.
Kezzy is 8 and she equates to 43. Bonus/GJ :thumbsup:

Our rough collie is 13. which is 65 by that calculator.

dogs aging may slow down but they go down hill quick towards the end!

ours was really healthy this time last year then had heart failure in january and has been kept alive with tables to remove fluid from around his heart for the last 11 months. Since then he's gone a little blind and deaf too and keeps walking into things.

But to be honest he's still as daft as a brush and likes to play... /toycar

happy to see another christmas with the silly old sod.:happy:
