Gearbox problem please help??

hey duz anyone know what could be wrong? my vr4 just suddenly started slipping like a slipping clutch the other day but its not the clutch, at the same time it slips i have a grinding sound coming from directly behind the end cover in the gearbox, viscous coupling maybe? or centre diff? has anyone ever had this problem before?

1. Have you searched the forums - stacks of info on g/box problems
2. Difficult to diagnose problems without the full spec of your car, particularly seemingly unimportant bits like 'is it manual or AT'.... ;)

Does it happen in all 5 forward gears and in reverse?

hey its a 4g63t 1990 evo o vr4 i have also jacked it up in the front and the back wheels dont wanna go anywhere but the front wheels still turn with the grinding noise, as for the reverse i think the back wheels wanted to turn then but not sure as was just playing around and in a bit of a hurry.
