Anybody know why my a.b.s lite comes on now and then?It goes off on startup but sometimes when i pull off the orange lite comes onINSERT INTO post VALUES (i think its the a.b.s lite)so then i have to pull over switch the car off then back on again then 99% of the time it stays off.

could possibly be a didgy sensor

had the same problem with my gti also would lock up on offside front under extreme braking,changed the sensor and it was o.k

the sensor is on the back of the wheei hub with a wire that is bolted on a bracket to the shock with a 12mm bolt.The connection to unplug it is behind the plastic **** guard near top of wheelarch.If you need another sensor i might be able to get you 1.

Here is a pic of the sensor if it helps,i just checked my shed i have a couple of them if you get stuck.

checked sensors and gave the whole braking system a all round clean.seems to be ok now.hasent came on since.hopefully ok now.cheers
