Right, while the wimin are getting mud splattered all over their nether regions I reckon us lads could sort out our own day/weekend of fun.

Now I've got my own place I can offer a roof and floor space for people to stop over at mine. I could sort out a decent karting day for the lads in Leicester for a good price.

Sutton Circuit is a new place I went to just before Christmas, it's a tight small circuit excellent for some good bumper to bumper action and I may be able to get some discount on a days worth. Or we could go to Stretton Circuit, do some karting in the morning and paintballing in the afternoon as they do both. Or we just do a trackday somewhere if we plan the dates right or maybe go to a race meeting as Donington and Mallory park are both only up the road.

We've got a decent garden for BBQ's and an 8' trampoline you can break some bones on if you wish.

I'm open to other suggestions, events, activities if anyones got some.

Karting sounds good to me. Ain't done any for ages!! Not a huge fan of paintballing, so not sure I want to do that again yet. What about quad biking?

So, do you want me to get some prices for karting?

WildCards
09-01-2007, 11:48 AM
Right, we're looking at £39 each for a team endurance karting session at Stretton2000, or £40 each for the same at Sutton Circuit. Stretton is longer with faster karts, but Sutton is nicer and more fun IMO. If we go to Stretton we aren't limited by numbers, if we go to Sutton we are limited to 20 people.

Or, we can go to PF International in Grantham which is in a league of it's own.

40 quid a head is good imo - lets go for it.

Do we know any dates yet?

Don't know any dates. It is dependant on Shop Fest 2 I think.

That brum place is not too far from where I work. I may be able to check it out one lunchtime if I need to? If it is not too expensive, I would vote for off-road karting! And my house is available for people to stay.....

WildCards

The off road karting is:

£140 per team for 1 hour
£240 per team for 2 hours
£315 per team for 3 hours

I think it works out slightly more expensive for what you get, It depends largely on numbers though I think.

How much driving time do we get for £40 on the karts? I would imagine a lot more than 17 minutes!!

BraindG

How about for dates end of April? 28th/29th? Which will allow the ringers to appear, and also gives 3 weeks before the start of the car show season?

The group karting sounds like the best plan imo.

Endurance racing is by far the most popular event at Stretton 2000. Since the circuit opened we have enjoyed many close races between teams of all sizes and raced in all conditions. Guests run in teams (size depends on size of overall group) and battle it out on track for the victory. The team with the most laps at the end of the race wins. Simple!

The length of the race also depends on the overall number of people taking part in the event. So for example; a race with teams of two may take 50 minutes. We can have races with as many as 10 karts on track, so the action is plentyfull! If the number of guests dictates that we have more people in each team, the overall race length increases, so the amount of time each driver will get remains the same.

Endurance races at Stretton 2000 are normally decided by the close racing on track, but with the added dimension of penalties. Each team is fighting to clock up the most laps by the end of the race, so consistency is the key! For each time a rule is broken, laps are deducted. This will lead to close finishes and surprise results. All laps are counted on our computer system and each lap time is recorded to be analysed later on.

Yeah, depending on team numbers your looking at around 30 minutes.

Edit: http://www.stretton2000.com/pricemain.htm - Looks like £39 gets you 25 minutes in a kart.

Marcus says that he favours Sutton as he prefers that over Stretton but he said can he take his own kart to Sutton?

I think so Jane, they do owners kart sessions but i'll have to ask about mix it with the hire karts.

Oh, tell him we'll have to give him a handicap, maybe he can have Richy on his team, that'll do it
