audible turbo

It has been ages since I've given my VR-4 a good run, so I've forgotten how it sounds when I really gun it. Anyway, I notice when I floor it, there is a loud whooshing, whirring sound. It's as loud as the air con fan when it is on high. This must be the turbo spooling up. Is this normal - can you hear the turbo in your legnum or galant when you really floor it?

I can, but normally the engine is louder than the turbos. I actually notice it most when cruising at about 3500-4000rpm in any gear.

Another time you can notice the turbos is when you're next to a concrete barrier or when in a parking building :D

I can only hear mine when the engine is cold. Its kinda like a siren when its spooling up. But once the engine's warm it goes.

I can hear mine all the time, more so when its cold.. Its very loud on mine.

I think the ARC box makes it louder... I love the noise.

Oh yes. THough I'm back to standard for now, The ARC box is a Luuurvely piece of kit - I like it best when you're in high gear off boost and then gently press on the loud pedal - you get a great wooshy-slurpy noise as those turbos spool up! Love it!:afro:

Cool, yep, turbs spooling up, nice !
I can just hear mine over the zorst note, Liz's is a quieter zorst so hers is quite audible.
