just checked the timing again on my car.. front head looks fine if you ask me.. however the far rear camshaft is ever so slightly out.. the front on of the rear head looks ok aswell..

anyways.. here is a picture.. do you think this little amount would have an affect?
ive not had a chance to check the rest yet, cos ive lost my ratched, Mo.. have you got two now? anyways, once ive got another ratchet ill check the other alignments..

if its just one tooth out then it should be fine, and i only have one rachet barry.

need some info on engine dismantling pls

It doesn't look like it's one tooth out. It looks like if it is moved one tooth it will be further away than before. Where are the rest of the marks? Can you get a photo of the l''''l''''l marks on the crank?

Barry - when the cams were lined up like that was the crank pulley at the '0' or 'TDC' mark on the block?

Were you on the compression stroke on cylinder 1?

These marks all need to be lined up at their respective correct places at the SAME TIME - the datum is TDC on cylinder 1 on compression stroke.
