Hi

Im on the hunt for a extra front grill to work on, im looking to get rid of the middle support bit (where the logo sits). What do you lot think? Probably look like this: (mind my weak editing, MS paint job, as i am at work)

I like it, looks a wee bit better on the pre's as they dont have the bitty sticking out onto the bumper.. however, i for one like the look of the grille without the middle bitty.

Presumably where the air intake is?
Would it actually make much difference? I did hear ages ago the removing the bonnet prop helped too?

The eBay linked ones and the one Isaac has won't fit the facelift bumper :scholar: well they will fit but you would end up with a gap! The bit where they join up is all different and the bumper has a cutaway bit to accomodate it.

To keep the same bumper I dont see any other option but to replace like for like.

While were on the subject has anyone managed to remove and refit the grille WITHOUT breaking one of the grey clip thingies??

yep. best way to do it is to set them back in the grill, then push the grill back in place on the car.

Yeah, 'tis easy if you release them all by pushing them in with a screwdriver first.

Yeah I managed to keep all my clips, iv removered it a few times now. like kieran says you need to use a screwdriver first to release the clips to take off the grill. Then to put it back in you need to set the clips up on the back of the grill then push the whole unit back in to place, like Kenneth said. Oh yeah and i remember it being like 6 odd clips too..

yeah - I do all that, my tool of choice for releasing the clips is a kebab skewer - but they still have a habit of breaking /Grrr
