The silver embossed word 'Legnum' on my tailgate is peeling. The 'L' has lost its gloss, as has the 'E'. The word is actually embedded in the tailgate garnish and is not a a sticker like in some cars (early facelifters). Can I regloss these letters or should I source a replacement tailgate garnish?

It shouldn't be embedded? I have removed mine, which is also a 99 facelift. They come off relatively easily, as long as someone hasn't glued them on with araldite! /pan

A bit of T-Cut on the red plastic afterwards and Robert is your Mothers Brother.

Failing that, get your self some new (http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m22b406s1740p7179&tbv=MITSUBISHI_LEGNUM_VR4_PARTS_Badges_-_Emblems-_Stickers_Mitsubishi_Galant/Legnum_VR4_EC5W_EC5A_Parts,_Tuning,_Spares_&_AccessoriesBody_Panels_&_Misc._Parts) ones.

I'm fairly sure it is just a sticker regardless of the year.

Kenneth has the letters on his spare tailgate which he might be willing to sell you.
