We all plan and save for those more expensive performance investments and servicing, but then there are weekends when a relatively cheap treat for your pride and joy would satisfy that feel good glow.
Any suggestions for a list of feel good upgrades for a grey winter sat/sun?

Hope that makes sense

Theres a question...what does your freshly thrashed car smell like?

Mine sometimes smells a bit like firelighters (guess thats the overfuelling) or a paraffin heater.

Wodj, whats this based on?

Reading through the thread various people have done it without any issues..

I wouldnt expect much anyway, as the actual area involved is next to nothing.

Also, the 100bhp was a slight joke... dont unleash the dogs quite yet

Based On !! You have No idea of what is happening to the Air Flow Ratio of the car ??

Ok ... The engine probably won't blow up first time you touch the accellerator pedal... But the long term adverse affects that it may be having on the engine is unknown.. So what seems like a Cheap Mod, may turn out to be a very expensive 1 /pan

I understand what you are saying, however, the minimal volume of air should have a minimal effect overall.

As well as vr4's running overly rich as standard anyway, surely, as discussed at length on that thread... the risk is minimal.

Long term effects while undocumented, are evident, in terms of those who have done it... such as Me, Mo, Scottish Ians car, Zentac, MPaul, etc etc etc

As a note, ill change the screw both ways next time im on the rollers...

Bear in mind my vr4 was typically vr4 rich last time it was tested.

I think we agree that RR info on both ways would be good.

I personally doubt we would see any change, but next time im on, maybe evern try for this weekend.... ill try it.

Also going to test the standard air intake vs ARC box

hmm, how much, where from, what brand, how easy to fit?

TAR

would you need a boost gauge first so that you knew how much to turn it up?

If you didn't have a gauge, could you literally screw the engine

You should do really mate. Otherwise your judging it on when or if boost cut occurs.

I'm sure you could just start with the MBC closed and open it a little by little taking minor blats at a time.

But in the long run, its probably best to get one fitted, just incase your peaking to high.

Glenn, If I get one and strap it to my old mans car, what are the chances of something getting hurt?

Not alot.... :inquisiti

If your Ol Mans car is standard and doesn't have a FCD fitted there shouldn't be any issues :scholar: The Cars ECU will keep it safe :pimp2:

Just keep boost levels to around .9 bar and there shouldn't be any issues

nice one. But the £20 MBC's don't have any kind of gauge, so i'll have to guess what .9 bar is I suppose.
