Vista only hit the shelves yesterday, but Microsoft's new operating system has already sent shockwaves through the PC retail industry.
Want to get your hands on an Acer desktop bundled with a copy of "Genuine MS Windows Vista Premium"? Get prepared to fork out a wallet-thrashing £9,999 for the pleasure, if prices down at PC World are anything to go by:

In order to stop your average shaved chimp from selling any Vista related product that was pilled up in the warehouse @ PC World everything was priced at 9999 until 30th Jan

Any breach of the Microsoft imposed embargo would mean withdrawl of some mega funding from Mr G......

.... looks like one price alteration was missed and xml is a biatch

£9,999 is worth it if for the 3d cascade and taskbar previews. MS-DOS FOR LIFE!
