just looking at a kit to remote the oil filter

is this the correct thread size
for either the V6 or VR4??

Its metric, and according to this its M20x1.5

Sounds like the kit might be no help

Yes, as Mpau says, it's a metric thread.

And Gly, yes the filter placement on the N/A V6 is very silly - still at least the oil is kept nice and toasty by the filter's proximity to the exhaust!!!/pan

Dragging this one up from the depths now that I've changed the oil on the ST-R.

The filter isn't in a bad place, I dislike it's orientation though. What I do like is the little bracket that looks like a water slide (oil slide) for the oil that drips out of the filter housing, runs down the side of the block, onto the water slide, and goes flying off the end into your face.

thats why you dont change the oil filter with your face brad :p

we had a str come into work and the old dude at work had it was like :eeerrr this is a stupid place for the oil filter..it will go all over the starter..."

i said "shut up and just take the bloody thing off"

so he did and he was like "wow thats a good idea"

and i said "yup thats coz mitsi is awesome :p "
