I am thinking of getting my radio fitted with a Radio Waveband Expander. Is this worth doing, will I get a lot more radio stations, and what should I expect to pay?

I paid under NZ$50 for the expander in another car.

Just do it. There is no substitute for a choice.

Did it not get done during SVA too?

Do you mean DAB to receive digital radio? or simply a signal booster to supplement your existing car arial?
If it is just a booster your talking about then yeah go for it, you can always gain better quality but highly unlikely to receive any more stations unless you have very few in the first place due to crap signal..
You can get simple boosters for next to nothing e.g £10 or pay silly money for the same thing with a fancy name.

DAB radio is still pretty expensive and there is still minor teething problems here and there with it.

just take your radio into a radio store, or some electrical place.. they will retune it to UK wavelengths
