I have no doubt that the car went to 255mph, but do you think Captain slow really drove it at those speeds? My guess is he took it up to ~200mph. The only shots of 407kph were just of the measuring device, nothing of him and the device.

Indeed. I found the length of the footage a bit suspect too. Wouldn't take long to cover a 5 mile straight at those sort of speeds.
