Engine number? (dont flame me..)

im looking for the engine number...i need it for insurance purposes....can anyone guide me to its location?

Is it not just the engine code, like 6A13?

yeh...but somewhere on the block theres soupposedto be that "SPECIFIC" code apart from 6a13.....im updating my insurance records.....

I can't remember which side of the engine it is on, but it is down on the block somewhere, I remember seeing it on my spare engine. Good luck being able to find it without pulling the engine out :)

Don't quote me, but I think I remember where it is. I would go to the gearbox end of the block, and look just above the bellhousing (just under the head) on the front bank. I guess there will be a few things in the way, including water pipes and possibly the front turbo cold air inlet pipe. But like I said, please don't hold me to it!

Yep, that sounds right Nick. I made a note of my new engines number before it was installed.
