Car went in for a 54k service today - not a single fault outside of a blown number plate bulb :D :D Cheers Il Dottore - crackin' car you sold me :D

Decided to buy the warranty afterall - £468.00 :Cry1: is a bit harsh but includes breakdown cover and a shed load of peace of mind. Oh well, the deed is done now no point turning it over to see what's underneath.

Just thought you might want to know, god knows why though. :p :p

How many megapounds did the service rush you?

ReggieK

Approx £310 for service & £468 for warranty.

I think the stock price - and they actually stick to the menu pricing - is around £280, and the rest was for refitting a front fog INSERT INTO post VALUES (which I asked them to do) and a replacement rear plate bulb.

I had looked into this before buying the car, so these prices aren't a surprise. Even if that £310 is more than I paid Ford for the 15k miles worth of servicing on my ST24.

That said the VR4 thrill factor is 10x higher.......ha ha ha ha ha ha, exit stage left to more mad cackling :D :D

Ta, Reg....knew it was sound. New car arrives on Saturday, can't wait to get me hands on it...!

I do miss the old thing a bit, keep looking at the For Sale sections, but quickly get pulled away...!

Hmm. Nice looking car the Supra, always liked them. They always seemed just a little too expensive to me though- what are the figures on your one then : 0-60, bhp etc ?

Isn't that supposed to be "older n wiser"? :D but you sold the VR4 . Go figure :D :D

My mistake - I thought the VR4 would be the same as the V6, which is 54k. It set me back £580 ish on that, so I dread to think what this one will cost! Hope your heart keeps beating when they tell you!

VR4 Service, Cambelt and MOT INSERT INTO post VALUES (46240 miles)

£040.75 MOT inc. small service, clean and waxoil underside, swap front wheels to rear
£030.75 Oil filter and synthetic oil
£001.00 Screen wash INSERT INTO post VALUES (piss take?)
£047.34 Cambelt
£001.98 Bulb
£227.50 Labour

£403.32 TOTAL including VAT. Alot better than the £700 Bells Mitsubishi, Earls Barton wanted for a Cambelt service alone.

Nice to see she doesn't always cost an arm and a testicle to maintain. So far INSERT INTO post VALUES (fingers crossed) I've had no problems with her since I bought her.

I do so love my VR4!

Was that at a Mitsy Dealer? Have they 'stamped the book', or don't you have a warranty?

Seems like a bobby bargain!

No mention of AYC Fluid?? I believe outside Mitsubishi dealers this can only be performed in very few places? I would have expected it to be done is all! Errr and a gearbox oil change at 45000?

I've now had this explained to me. Mitsubishi split the large jobs so that you don't get hit with one huge bill. Although the cambelt has to be changed at 45000 miles the 54000 mile service is a major service.

The garage I use has serviced my VR4 every 4500 miles since I've bought it. It is opposite my work place and maintains all our company vehicles and my colleagues cars. INSERT INTO post VALUES (Including a 2.2vtec Prelude import). The service and expertise they offer far out performs my local Mitsu dealership who I wouldn't trust with an old mini.

With regards to the service book, I'm quite happy for my local garage to stamp my book regularly and my car is not covered by a warranty. The only car I currently have serviced by a main dealer is my Missus 206CC because it is only a year old. Once the warranty expires on that i'm not bothered about having Peugeot look after it.

Provided the work carried out by your indipendant Garage is of a good qulaity having your car serviced there may not invalidateyour warranty. Check with Jeremy Clarkson!

Are they able to do your AYC as well?

I shall double check all items on the service schedule on Monday, will post again Monday evening.

I also have printouts from Mitsubishi of their service schedules, contents and prices. These are around a year old though. eg The 45000 cambelt change shows £684inc however when I phoned to check last month it had gone up to just over £700.
