So.....I think I'll grab this and try and force the heads onto my 6A13TT, at $550 I can't go wrong, Kempys charge $1000 for just the heads, and I can resell the gearbox or whatever as well.

at $550 I can't go wrong,

...It is in Christchurch though.

You have to ask yourself "do i really need more stuff" and "is my car ever going to be finished:thinking: "

I joined CVR4 in Nov 04, and i still haven't seen the car in the flesh:afro:

Has it got an ETA, or is it gonna be one of those monsters that keeps growing..

Not having a dig or anything, but does it really need mivec? i just want to go for a ride with the mods its already got/getting/pan .

I think we need to nail you down to a set date for a show and shine reveal party, that way it will have to happen:pimp2:, right?

I've asked him if he will just send up the engine without the gearbox and it's related parts for $550 in total, with shipping. I hope he says yes. My last engine I purchased cost $100 in freight to come up from wellington. Interesting that my white VR-4 only cost $250 to come up from wellington haha.

I'm not going to add the mivec heads at this stage though, I will add them when I rebuild an engine (maybe my spare seized 6a13tt) with forged internals, new throttle body, manifolds, etc. That way the new engine will just drop into the car and it should be done faster :)

To be fair the car was on the road from may 05 to feb 06, and I have done about 23 or 24000km in it.

Ahh i forgot you had that sitting around, that would make for a good project

And now for the record please finish this sentence.

"I Bradc am having a party to launch my Purple VR4 for the CVR4 masses on the __ day of ______ 200_/pan :scholar:"

And i call shotgun as of right now:happy:

hmmm the MIVEC MD is different to the FTO Mivec engine, but weve been doing quite a lot of head work on an FTO and on the VR4 over winter and the valves are consideably bigger on the VR4, so to even start getting the heads up to the level of flow you require for the VR4 would be a lot of work (or £'s) IIRC the valves are at least 1mm smaller. Not worth the effort IMHO.

Thanks for that richard, guess I won't be going with it then.. I couldn't find anything on the gear ratios though, I imagine they would be similar to the 7G VR-4 though.
