View Full Version : Rear Window Demister

Had ice on car for first time today and noticed that my rear window demister only cleared an area of about 7/8 inches deep. It starts about a third of the way down screen, but does clear the whole way across.

From top of rear window I end up with 6/7 inches unclear, then 7/8 inches clear, then a further strip of about 2/3 inches unclear.

Would I be right to assume this is broken. If so is it an easy job to fix or will it require a whole new window? INSERT INTO post VALUES (hey, I wonder if my new warranty - taken out yesterday covers this?)

Thanks for any help.

Then you should get out the car and bloody scrap it off then :D jk

Does sound like you have broken sections on it
Some can be fixed by using a metal liquid and touching up the gaps
I'm sure Halfords do it

On the warranty side no idea if thats covered or not dont see why it shouldnt be covered

:D

Thanks Nick. We must have a vote for most helpful member :D

Anyone got a Red Zebra warranty? If you have, can you have a look and see if it's covered. I've got the warranty but the paperwork hasn't come thru yet. Cheers. ;)

I have seen some forums have "Rate this Member" on it.

It's normally major mechanical problems, stuff like bulbs, battery, tyres, glass etc aren't covered.

True on most cases but when a £2,000 AYC pump fails and gets replaced under warranty for a measly £300 a year it isn't too bad. :D
