Your "current new clutch" is slipping? Was it inadequate for your mods or was it just a cack-handed install? Also, who's fitting the new parts? Going to a garage or doing it yourself?

Only wussies get other people to fit their clutches, y'know.

I dont think its that easy a job..

So Marc at 'The Garage' will be doing it as usual.

He fitted the last one which was a standard temp fix, well fitted, but I knew it wouldnt last. Its only slipping due to the current power and cold weather.

Looking forward to seeing the feedback. Sorry, it took me three hours to get home tonight and I don't want to go out in the snow again. I'll measure my clutch tomorrow.

Clutch confirmed as 240mm diameter. Flywheel is 290 diameter, with approx 260 useable surface diameter. However, the pressure plate design means you lose a bit more. The worn area on the flywheel and the friction plate measure near as dammit 241mm.

CUSCO copper discs are no longer available.

So, ive opted for the Pro Shop Lida Metal Disc

For info people.

The Pro Shop Lida flywheel is half the weight of the OEM flywheel...

But my clutch is a touch heavier now...

I'll keep you guys up to date on the results.

Scott do you know where the mass has been lost on the Lida flywheel ? as the ones we do lose about 2.3kg's but the mass is moved into the center so feels like a lot more has been lost

Well..

Car is back.. ALL GOOD

Car really revs free'r than before and no slippppppy clutch.

The clutch is veeeery heavy now and pulling away in 1st gear makes me look like ive just passed my test.... but changes are so crisp now.

I have some pics, but my DVD drive is dead... will update when I can.

THUMBS UP FROM ME.

By heavy do you mean it's really hard to push the clutch in, or do you mean it goes from OFF to ON very very quickly with no real midpoint at all?

Both..

Well, the pedal is very heavy, but not too much that its annoying.

Its very on/off compared to the OEM clutch and first gear pulling away is rough... 2nd not so bad.... but maybe i need to get used to it.

Just did the very same thing at the weekend. Proved to be a right pain to do as ended up having to grind the old pressure plate to get it off!

I have found the same with the clutch, pulling away esp on a hill is interesting to say the least. Not as on/off as it could be, but still very harsh compared to an organic clutch plate. Think it will just take some getting used to.

Flywheel has definately made a difference though, it definately revs much more freely now. I have pics of the flywheels so as you can compare John, and see what you think.

All in all though, as long as you can deal with having a very heavy pedal and not much control in slow moving traffic, i would definately put one in again (as long as im not changing it myself this time!!)

looks like an R34 skyline on the left there :D

I've got an exedy heavy duty clutch in my car and it is light and easy to drive, it doesn't go from on to off straight away either, I'm very happy with it.

nahh, I took Uc's car for a drive once, stalled in about 4 times on a 2km trip, I'm not very good with clutches like that either!
