I'm guessing you've got the new brakes on as well, and Carsten has your old ones?

How is the squealing problem?

You See
14-02-2007, 06:57 AM
Squealing comes and goes...been heaps better since the discs were machined (thanks Carsten) and yep....all oh sooo preddyyyy! :D

You See
14-02-2007, 07:12 AM
Sell them I guess.....anyone interested? ..all perfect except for 1 wheel which has about an inch of rough curbing (all good, but if you wanted to fix it...it shouldn't cost too much), wrapped with 'as new' Goodyears F1s...offers! :D

bradc
14-02-2007, 07:32 AM
Would that be the wheel that you damaged while sliding around right in front of me, on those 'as new' gsd3's? :P

Whyd you change? Because of the spacers needed on the older set? The new ones do look nice, but i was a fan of the style you had on.

Thanks dude...I'm pretty happy with the look. Don't like the Yokas - too much road noise even with the loud pedal in use! /pan

18's tho did look the part, were just too much of a harsher ride for my liking. The spacers weren't much of a problem, but it was also time for a change - 9months is long enough! :inquisiti ...As for the styling, you can too have that look...wink wink nudge nudge

So THAT's what UC looks like! Heh!

UC, how thick were your spacers?

bradc
15-02-2007, 01:50 AM
They were only 3mm. The wheels cleared the brembos but by less than the thickness of a post it note. So we all agreed spacers were the best option.

You See
15-02-2007, 05:57 AM
Yup...only 3mm needed for piece of mind on the 18's, but there's no need for them now! :iloveyou:

william
15-02-2007, 06:05 AM
If you want to get rid of them I am keen! You can bring them to the workshop day and we can sort something out.

You See
15-02-2007, 06:06 AM
Sweet....will do. :D

Gly
15-02-2007, 06:45 AM

uc hasnt paid his storage fees!!

LOL! :D

bradc
15-02-2007, 06:52 AM
haha. I've got 4x 8mm spacers if anyone needs them

william
15-02-2007, 07:18 AM
Let us see wether my rims will clear Brembo calipers. Gly, your wheels are wide enough and you cannot roll your arches any more, so keep your gready mits off them!

Gly
15-02-2007, 07:40 AM
LOL! gready!
im just claiming the storage fees for the brembos and e9 wheels he stored at my place, and now hes storing these here aswell,

what kind of wheels you got.... make specs etc....

i can role my guards as much as i want,
i have a guard roller :P

i just want a spare set of tyres, LOL!

after a quick look thru my collection of mag catalouges.

they look like an Advanti AVT to me?

17x7? or 8?

if there the 7" they wont fit over brembos
and i dont think they fit even if they are 8"s

advanti list them as a fit for the evo 8 & 9,
but not the 5,6 & 7.

bradc
15-02-2007, 09:05 AM
William, wait until you see my evil plan to fit my 17x9.5" with about a 20mm offset at the back and 35mm at the front with 255/40/17's on :D

As Carsten just said, they probably won't fit, but we can try them over Uc's brembo's, we can also try a couple of other peoples wheels over the brembo's and see what happens.

Don't you get me started on Interest!.../pan

william
16-02-2007, 01:57 AM
Yes Carsten, they are Advanti AVT 7's. At the moment there is about 30mm space between the caliper and the wheel. Brad's idea to actually see if they will fit seems good. I still want some spacers though and you keep away from them lol!!

Gly

no your bloodly not!

i spent 3-4 days cleaning and painting and fitting those ****ers,
not letting anyone scratch or chip the paint on them!

go get your car from gary and try them over your brembos!

and 30mm is no where near enough for brembos,
the AVT is not evo fitment according to advanti.

bradc
16-02-2007, 07:38 AM
But I'm careful enough to put them on without scratching them :)

Gly
16-02-2007, 07:52 AM
ive seen how you jacked up his car...
real careful!!!

and you can barely lift a mag wheel!

stay away or prepair to die!

bradc
16-02-2007, 08:47 AM
ohh now thats BS, just 10 minutes ago I had a wheel in each hand, moving them across the shed

Gly
16-02-2007, 08:49 AM
the ones off your little red trolly dont count :P

bradc
16-02-2007, 08:53 AM
no, but I don't have a little red trolley, I was moving the ~20kg ralliart wheels with tyres

Gly
16-02-2007, 08:58 AM
rolling them along the gound using one and each,
isnt the same and lifting them either :P

bradc
16-02-2007, 09:15 AM
nope, carrying each of them with one hand :) I know I'm not the strongest person out there, but I can carry a wheel properly
