i have a hks super sqv, its loud and scares children I love it! Wouter recently bought the same one, but... its not the same it doesnt have the pressure screw on the end to change when it releases.. also its seems much quieter than mine... not sure why its different though.

I have a HKS , sounds great and has the adjuster screw . Only issue I have found is that the thing now over fuels so much when i back off I can smeel the unburnt petrol . But that will be mapped out when I get a MAP ECU2 fitted

Evo fitments will fit the vr4, so anything from 4 - 9 should fit, and you wont need a fitting kit, just the bare BOV.

Ive had many, including a HKS SSQV, but found it too sharp a noise, too high pitched.

the best VTA BOV by far is the Sard R2D2 in my opinion, very deep and aggresive noise, plus its about a 1/3 of the price of a HKS SSQV.

Conaboy also prefers the R2D2...

Top choice for me.

HKS jobby, but a newer one without the adjustable screw. Seems to have a much higher pitched sound, but still capable of scaring the small and the elderly, so it'll do.

Hi guy´s!

I know I´m a noob on the VR4´s, but wont the engine run to fat on gas when the bov releases the messured air after the air mass meter? Am I wrong?

If not, I would love to have the "psssscchh" sound that it makes. (and the whole spool-up effect to that it´s suppsosed to help with, right?)

You are right, its adding to my woes at the moment, and the push type VTA Bov's cause idle issues coming off boost unless the spring tension is just so for the same reason, given the choice again, id go for an uprated recirculating model, or one of the genuine SSQV ones which seem to work well on others cars

allright, does anyone have some pics of an installed HKS SSQV on a their VR4? And perhaps a list of mods done to make the BOV work on our engines?

Pics located near the bottom. (http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20420&highlight=oil+bov)

No mods, just installed with the kit.

Dunno if this post is valid anymore but I have a GFB stealth FX. bit pricey but a very well engineered piece of kit. the big plus is that you can choose if you vent to atmoshphere or recirculate... or anywhere in between.

My bov is just a twin piston forge atmos one. got it 4 nowt off a mate with a saph cossie. Took it apart cleaned/greased it and stretched the spring a bit to give it a bit more tension, et voila my pssshht is complete. tried a hks one off another mates s14a drift car but only single piston so car overfuelled like mad, loadsa black smoke.
