Noticed recently that my battery was losing charge, even to the point of not being able start the car. Probably due to not using it these days, between one Saturday and the next, or if I do then its a five minute trip to a neighbour at night, so everything gets used and no recovery time.
Anyway, went to local Halfrauds to get a replacement. Picked it up a week after ordering and went to fit it this morning. Without looking - as you do, assuming your supplier has a modicum of sense - dropped the new battery in place only to find that the terminal positions were the reverse of the old one /pan /pan /Grrr Question is, does anyone know of a good supplier of replacement heavy duty batteries or is the local Mitsi dealer the best bet :inquisiti

When i bought my halfords battery, i found that i had just enough cable to allow for the terminals being on the opposite sides.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Unfortunately I've already returned the battery to halfrauds, so would be too shame-faced to go and ask for it back. So I'll guess I'll ring the local dealer tomorrow and see what they want for an official replacement.

The part code for a v6 galant battery is MZ690089 and should cost you £70.25 inc vat. If they try and tell you its MZ690091 then tell them to check again as thats what they told me to start with.
Prices should be pretty current, bought mine about a month ago.
Cheapest i could find listed for a Galant V6 anywhere!

I just replaced mine went to the local motor factor looked for one that was about the same size and terminal position with a decent ampage etc and got it.
It is a little wider than the jap battery and had to change the terminals ( had a earthing kit that fitted the earth side)

Just got one for mine - 70AH and 3 year warranty - £40 and the terminals are the right way round. Good having a friendly taxi driver ;)

I bought a replacement direct from Mitsubishi dealer. As I had poor service from them before, I complained to the parts Manager and when I called the favour in I got it at cost £50 all in. Halford's is one of the last places I'd go!!

Geez, you guys get stung for batteries over there.
About $100 ( 30 quid about ) got me a super heavy duty with shielded terminals all around the right way and that was just at the local garage. I was in too much of a hurry to bother chasing a few dollars discount, besides which it probably would have cost me more in petrol to go hunting around. LOL

Paul thanks for the info - but at that price, thats way more than even Halfrauds so I will be looking elsewhere I think....
Steve, can you let me know where you got yours, cos that spec is exactly wot I want and at a good price too. Any outlets in my neck of the woods?

Halfords were useless. In their little guide in front of the batteries says the Galant battery uis available to special order, so you go to the ordering desk and they says its not available even as a special order. Bye then!

Just checked on Yell.com and got loads down on the south coast including a japanese specialist, so I think I'll give them a try later in the week.
