After nursing the mother of all hangovers yesterday I thought i'd better get stuff done today. Kate was working this morning so I set the boys out to play while I was cleaning the cars. I got a fair bit done today, i'm quite pleased.

No, the boys are never clean. For some reason (it may be that they are 6 & 3) they didn't seem to grasp that you don't run around wet grass in your socks.

Ritch, yes, Richy Rich and I tracked the 205 at Cadwell a few weeks ago. It certainly looks the part and it went alright, but needed/needs a bit of work. I've been making plans and buying parts since and hopefully over the next month or so it should be transformed into something pretty nippy.
I'm hoping for at least 200bhp per tonne, as it should weigh about 800kgs as it stands and i've got a 160bhp mi engine that is going to be dropped in when it's been rebuilt.

Is the lump youre using from the 405 or is it the citroen bx gti one??

It's from a 405 Mi16x4 I found out today. Apparently it just means some of the bolts are recessed to make way for the transfer box and i'll have to find spacers for one of the engine mounts.

It went off to the engine shop this morning for the rebuild and some minor fettling, and i've started taken the front of the car to bits ready to get the 1.6 engine out.

As it happends Dan, I still have the trampoline that was in my Leggy in my Garage. Although I think it would sound a tad tinny in the 205.

true... just me being an eedgit...

... that looks like the ideal base for a brilliant track car... guy down the road from me has a stripped out mk1 fiesta with a 190bhp engine(not sure details think its a zetec) and the car weighs 750kg... I've heard it can outdrag RS4's..

quite fancy doing it myself... maybe get a locost Super7 replica that would be fun..

I know of a 309 GTI with the 406 2.0 turbo lump in it, not stripped out like but it shifts.
