Does anybody know how long no-claims last for if not used?
I remember years and years ago when I was in company car land that insurance companies invalidated any previous no-claims if not applied to a policy for a certain period of time....something like 2 years??? Anyone have any info?

I always assumed if you didn't take insurance after 12 months your NCB's would be lost. Different insurers may have different policies on this though.

I had no insurance in my name for a couple of days short of 2 years when i bought my Galant, so they were able to carry it on, but if it had been over the 2 years i would have had to have started from scratch again.

2 years sounds about right Jimbo but I do think that different insurance companies have different policies.

Thanks everyone, appreciate your feedback as always
I might be looking to get a runaround for a short while and I have a small no-claims bonus left over from my Mundaneo insurance (expired 16 months ago) which might come in handy depending on what I do. Just need to ring the AA now and see if they'll supply me with a letter confirming it.
Cheers :)

2 years with most people, although I think I've heard 3 somewhere.
