What were they actually doing to the car?

Everytime I've taken my car into mitsi it's had 0.5-2km added onto it, but never 30km. They always seem to use a lot of petrol though, I think they leave them idling for a long time

Depends what they are doing i think, after they did my AYC pump they took it for "testing" for about an hour and did 50+k's..(oh.. by the way, your clutch is on the way out:thinking:)

I know a road test is part of their warrant check, but yeah for an oil change or something, id consider writing to them to complain, they should at least tell you about it. As for the gas, chances its not that bad, its just that the gauge is a bit screwy

they did a atf change and a premium service, i was expecting to lose a lil gas but 1/4 is nuts! i talked to them about it but they just played it down and got rid of me, i mean its not as bad as mpau's 50k but its still annoying!

ok to answer your question if the did a trans service on it it would be normal for them to do quite a few k's in it to make sure shes changing right etc. sometimes i go from glenfield to silverdale and back when i do a road test just to make sure everything is sweet. even if it was just a normal service a road test will be done to to listen out for odd noises and just to see how she runs when its hot etc....

and yes they WILL thrash it! but once again its jsut to see how it runs, changes gear etc

yeah you just got to look at it from there point of view..if you take it back to them in 2 days time coz the trans is slipping or something you wil go in yelling at them and yeah. its better for the mechanic just to make double sure its all good before you pick it up

the only reason he has to drive to silverdale is because he works on fords and he is never sure when it will just stop working :)
