Does anyone know if there is a short shifter available for the Galant?

Pro shop iida list a kit to improve the standard shifter. I think a couple of people have fitted it.you can find it here http://www.ps-iida.co.jp/

I believe the EVO short shift kit works, however you can have trouble using the handbrake in reverse as there is no kink in the shifter

Quite Right. There's an article in the member's section about this, showing you how to DIY, but it's not amazingly difficult. Yes, a 'CJ' model Colt, some lancers and the manual FTO (maybe) all use the same shifter mechanism in the cabin, so a short shifter from one of those should fit.:scholar:

If the FTO one does fit then http://www.freakyparts.co.uk sells them.
