I'm after a chassis number so I can get someone with caps to see if your gearset looks to be the same as a VR-4 because your final drive is 3.722 which would work great on our VR-4's

Thanks in advance!

you would need someone with a manual STR 4wd n/a,
the fwd box is designed differntly to a 4wd box,
i doupt it would fit or be worth the effort,
dont think the gears/shafts/bearings would be built strong enough

Yeah I figure that too, but I'm keen to have a look anyway.

Also can you email me your setup.env file from caps? Mine is empty, I guess thats why my caps has problems!

Im running one in the FTO and putting more power though it than all of the VR4's on here, they are strong enough.

if you can install it into D:\CAPS\Newzeland-v3.13-18-05-2003 then it should work with the setup.env file that was in the archive I created and you downloaded.

That will be the vin number, your chassis number should be EA5W-0something

Thanks for the gear ratios though, that matches up with another pdf I have, your final drive is 3.722

EA5W ;) fwd ;)

I spotted that, but the Z and the A confuse caps.

Paul, it should be 'scratched' into the firewall

If its above the the master cylinder towards the middle of the car, then thats the same as i have for the VIN no.
Dont confuse me, its not good!

hehe ok, I'll try a couple of variations on the theme tonight. Maybe it's because your car is a UK facelift that my NZ version is having problems

I would of thought that you will need the euro version of caps to drag any info out about Mr B's gearbox, I have a euro version but I think Paul's car is to new for it :inquisiti - but you can drill down through the model codes to get the info - what exactly were you looking for??

g6, trying to find out what the final drive gear and output shaft look like.

zentac
27-03-2007, 07:21 AM
CAPS isnt very good for pictorial representations, but the output shaft from the V6 has 18 teeth, the FTO has 16 or 17. the VR4 has 18 the CP9A Lancer has 16 or 17.... good hunting ;)

Do you want the part code for the gearbox? I should have the invoice from 2 years ago for it somewhere.

bradc

Richard, do you know of any that have 19 teeth? I'm thinking maybe GTO or something like that
