I tried hard to make sure none spilled out, putting rags around the top, scooping some out with a lid etc. but my pads were low and the fluid was topped up by the last person, so the levelwas still too high when i put the cap on and some spilled out.
I dabbed it up with a cloth, some got on thealternator and the belt, but again i wiped it off.

Will this continue to corrode or will it evaporate etc.? Can I do anything else? throw some water int he same area etc.?

Just want to make sure.

yeh just was it with water,

brake fluid is hydroscopic (sp?) meaning that it absorbs water,
it will just wash away. dont leave it sitting on any surface thou..
it'll peal paint and corrode/break down other materials

hygroscopic... there isn't actually a term hydroscopic despite the fact that most people use if frequently and assume it to mean absorbing water, the word doesn't exist :inquisiti
