Hi all, Fitted a replacement air flow meter to my 02 2.0 Galant (ECU error code said it was faulty) and it's still got the same problem, symptoms are;

1. when stationary the revs are between 2 to 2.5K.
2. when rolling (in neutral or with the clutch in) the revs hunt between 1 and 2k.
3. Fuel consumption is dire and has been for months before the idling problem.

Anyone got any ideas or had a similiar problem?

Thanks in advance
John

I know it may sound silly but my sister in law had the same problem on her Daewoo....

it turned out to be a Faulty Battery :inquisiti

Apparently cause the voltage was so low the engine kept the revs high to try to get the alternator to charge it.....

I don't know exact details but that was her problem and a brand new battery fixed it.

Does the 2.0 have a separate idle control valve. If it is sticking it may cause idle problems
